Kiva Ladder

Kiva Ladder
Melanie Brittain's "latest venture" is chine colle (collaging using the printing press). The rungs of the kiva ladder provide a dynamic perspective-tension in framing various pictures of realistic subjects. The ladder itself is comprised of torn strips of Melanie's abstract monotypes.

These one-of-a-kind
15" x 11" pieces start at $95.

Melanie Brittain
Printmaking

An artist since the age of three, Melanie Brittain has worked in many media...crayons, chalk, oil painting, sculpture, and watercolor. She has lived in various picturesque (artist) communities throughout the United States... Provincetown, Aspen, Lahaina, Telluride. Finally settling in Santa Fe, she met and "fell-in-love" with the printing press. She loves the element of surprise when the finished print is peeled off the plate. She prides herself in displaying only original, hand-pulled works of art done on hand-made or 100% cotton rag paper using oil-based etching ink.
