Images have psychological and spiritual power. They have the
potential to refer us back to something deeper and more essential within. Images
can also guide us towards what we want to become, towards the life we aspire
to lead, towards how we wish to inhabit and relate to the world around us.
These images are my inspiration of a relationship to the world that is at ease;
reverent, and responsive; both quiet and wakeful.
The landscape of Northern New Mexico is particularly stirring
for me. The vibrant seasonal hue of autumn cottonwood and the drama of evening
skies delight my senses and the desire to interpret the transient beauty is
compelling. I am moved by the ancient stories the land and adobes tell, stories
of human struggle, of co-existence with nature, of both triumph and humility.
I hope to share my delight and appreciation for these places and if possible,
to gently provoke the viewer to pause and reflect, if just for a moment.
