Cyndia Harlan "All of my artwork has to do with my experience and perspective of life. Each piece is a personal expression of where I am at when I create it. Painting is part of my soul. I am not full unless I am painting. Everything I see I look at in terms of how I would make it into my artwork; how I would photograph it, how I would paint it, how I would color it in terms of how I am feeling." Cyndia grew up in northern California where she attended American River College. She comes from a family of artists and educators. Cyndia produced a large body of artwork in northern Colorado where she lived for twenty-two years before moving to Santa Fe in 2003 to co-manage the Sylvan Learning Center. She is known for her ability to combine colors and textures to evoke feelings and moods in her work. Inspired by her travels in Korea, France and Italy, Cyndia moved from
landscapes to abstracts in 2003. She began incorporating various types
of paper in her acrylic works along with other media including gold
leaf, glazes, pigments and her own digital photos.
