Virginia Lee Lierz My passion in photographs tends to be documentary--photographing people and animals interacting with their surroundings--capturing a moment in the living book of history. My second love is experimenting with various techniques of manipulating the photographs to give them my own personal touch. With my body of Big Bend work, I have used a Polaroid S-X 70 camera to rephotograph an enlargement of the original 35 mm print. I have physically manipulated the Polaroid prints by moving the emulsion, using several techniques. I then had a laser copy of the Polaroid prints enlarged and printed on Bristol Watercolor paper. Frequently, I have enhanced these prints by drawing or hand coloring, using Marshalls' colored pencils, watercolors, acrylics and/or oil pastels. |
