Barbara Meikle Barbara Meikle was born in New Mexico in 1962 and spent a childhood and adolescence absorbed in the delights of painting and drawing. She attended the University of Denver, Colorado, earning a Bachelor of Arts Degree in painting and printmaking, as well as becoming a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Sorority. Her education was completed with watercolor and oil painting studies at Cambridge University, England. Barbara stayed in Denver to learn more about the different aspects of a career in art--selling art, managing a gallery--but returned to live in Santa Fe, New Mexico, to pursue the life of a painter. Her work revolves around her surroundings, the countryside of the high desert, as well as the animals that inhabit it. Barbara's paintings have been exhibited at the International Art Expo in New York City, several contemporary galleries in the Southwest, and she is currently an active member of the Santa Fe Society of Artists.
