Addie Synar was born in Muskogee, Oklahoma,
in 1949. She was raised in an artist family and encouraged in her childhood
to develop her natural ability to create. "Art was everyday life for
me and I don't remember when I wasn't constantly involved in some art project".
Today, her focus is on figurative painting in mixed media. "I enjoy
experimenting with different mediums and have found this style of painting
to be both challenging and rewarding." Since retirement from a career
of 33 years with the airlines, Addie has finally become a full time artist.
She has won numerous awards for her work in competition shows and galleries. "I
am able, at this stage of my life, to focus on creating art that is an enjoyment
and inspiration to others and satisfaction for myself".
