About Santa Fe Society of Artists

Art Show

The Santa Fe Society of Artists is a nonprofit organization which aim is to provide an environment of professional development to members through education, with visibility at exhibitions, through fellowship and by outreach to the community in volunteer projects.

Over a Quarter Century of Outdoor Shows

This year, the Santa Fe Society of Artists celebrates its 26th year as the premier juried fine art group in Santa Fe, with over 60 members. A vital part of the festivity and creativity that draws visitors to Santa Fe, its outdoor fine art shows afford an opportunity to experience firsthand an important part of Santa Fe’s culture—the artists!

Independent Spirit

The Society was founded in 1981 as a vehicle for Santa Fe artists to self-promote and to exhibit independently. A group of twenty three founding fine artists agreed that the best stimulus for artistic and professional growth was exhibiting their own artwork in a public setting.

Convenient Downtown Location

Since 1988, all of our outdoor fine art shows have taken place off the Plaza in the 1st National Bank of Santa Fe’s parking lot, across from the Museum of Fine Art (between West Palace Avenue and West San Francisco Street).

Community Spirit

The Society actively supports community arts groups such as Fine Arts for Children & Teens (FACT) with donations for after-school arts classes. As part of the community outreach program initiated in 2003, SFSA’s High School Art Scholarship Program proudly awarded three senior high school art students $500.00 scholarships in 2005 and 2006.
