AnaMaria Samaniego captures the essence of the Southwest Landscape. Her art reflects a sense of place. It takes you into the wild flora flooded with the light of Nuevo Mexico with nuance of color reflecting off cottonwoods and sloping mountains.

Ties to the landscape began at childhood. The Artist was raised in and around Mesquite, NM, among the agricultural Mesilla Valley. Her inquisitive nature wanted to capture the magic of growth by drawing her mother’s beautiful flowers. Four years at College of Santa Fe gave her the skills and ten years at Graphics Workshop (Private Print shop) gave her hands on experience, allowing her to depict the natural magnetism of the landscape. Her focus is the inspiring landscape and portraying it with an honest heart.

AnaMaria Samaniego resides and maintains a studio in Santa Fe, NM. She actively belongs to Contemporary Hispanic Market and Santa Fe Society of Artists. Her Merits are numerous such as, Poster Artist, 1st place awards for printmaking and permanent display of an etching at the New Mexico State Capitol.

Due to her intricate understanding and background in Printmaking she has conducted accredited instruction in Western New Mexico University in Silver City, Northern New Mexico College in Espanola and Santa Fe Community College. Her skills are honed by teaching students printmaking and opening doors for them to express themselves.
